Forest Edward Harrell, 89, of Vilonia AR passed away October 2, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Harrell was born October 29, 1930 in Harrellsville, NC to Willie and Sally Mae Harrell.  He retired from the US Navy as Chief Petty Officer after 22 years of service. He worked as a manager for 20 years for Metropolitan Insurance Company. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, branch 282 of Little Rock, AR and past president of Branch 282, and past president of the South-Central Regional Fleet Reserve Association. Mr. Harrell was the founder and builder of the first volunteer fire department, Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department. He was manager of the Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department but remained a member of the board after retiring from the fire department in Vilonia, AR. He was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed fishing in his free time. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Terry McGee; three brothers; and one sister.

He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Harrell of Vilonia, AR; one son, Jerry Helton (Cheryl) of Chesterfield, VA; two daughters, Donna Fipps of Lake Jackson, TX, Barbara Wheeler of Vilonia, AR; one brother, John Harrell (Shirley)  of Murphysboro, NC; three sisters, Willie Mae Reese of Harrellsville, NC, Helen Newby of Harrellsville, NC, Hazel Cooksey of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
