Curtis Ray Singleton
Curtis Ray Singleton was born July 11, 1954 in Harrisburg, AR to Bud and Grace Singleton. He died June 7th, 2020 at his home in Conway, AR. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bill. He leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years, Theresa (Ridge) and devoted daughter, Autumn.
Curt grew up in Cherry Valley, Arkansas. He graduated from Arkansas State University where he met the love of his life, Theresa. Curtis studied Wildlife Management and always enjoyed the time he spent in God’s creation, tending his garden and caring for his land.
Curt was active in his church community and volunteered as a Sunday School teacher, a member of both the orchestra and choir and served as a deacon. Curtis always sought-after knowledge and, in turn, devoted much of his life to teaching. He and Theresa homeschooled Autumn and started a home-school co-operative, Eagle Christian Academy where homeschool families studied together once a week.
Curtis was happiest when he was at home with Theresa, Autumn and their cats. He loved spending time with his family whether he was landscaping, watching movies, or telling stories and laughing.
Curt invested in the lives of the people around him. He cast a long shadow on those who knew him and many felt like they were better for knowing him. Kimberly Harrison Myshka, who Curtis loved like a daughter for 32 years, said of him, “Dad could fix anything, but he mostly spent his time fixing people.”
He loved God’s Word. His favorite scripture was no surprise to those who knew him. Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which though shalt go; I will guide thee with mine eye.”
Curtis is also survived by his brothers Gene (Sandra), Wayne (Betty), Charles (Deborah), Bob, Jimmy and sisters Shirley Bartholomew (late Leo), Roberta Davis (Mike) and many nieces and nephews.
