William "Bill" Hugh Austin Jr.

William "Bill" Hugh Austin, Jr., 79, of Morrilton was born on May 24, 1941 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and died on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Hugh Austin of Conway, and Lorena Borders Austin of Pine Bluff; and by wife Hazel Marie (Atkinson) Austin, of Morrilton, mother of his daughter.

Bill is survived by his wife, Betty Jean (Carson) Austin; his daughter Adrianne "Dolly" (Mike) Brewer of Smyrna, Tennessee; two grandsons, Joey (Lauren) Brewer of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Austin (Micky Faya) Brewer of Nashville, Tennessee; his sisters, Christine Coker of Hot Springs, and Barbara Ann Gracie of Kauai, Hawaii; and many nieces, nephews, stepdaughters, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren.

Bill was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Navy across the globe. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1977 and returned home to Arkansas where he was employed with various companies before retiring from Snap On Tools in Conway in 2008. He was an avid bowler, most recently at Conway Family Bowling Center with the Gimpy Old Guys. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle across the state and participating in Arkansas Bikers for Babies March of Dime RIDEs. He became skilled using a scroll saw and loved woodworking and reading. Bill was a loving, hardworking provider who cared for his family well.
