Susann Duvall

–

Morrilton, Arkansas

It is with a mix of sadness and joy that we announce the passing of the ever-compassionate Susann Duvall on July 15, 2025, who was known to many as a feisty momma bear with a heart as big as her beloved Texas. Born on February 17, 1947, in Big Spring, Texas, it came as no surprise when Susann grew up to be a force to be reckoned with, both in her career as a tax accountant and when she was reeling in a big one on her many fishing trips.

Susann was a woman who was never afraid to get her hands dirty, whether it was meticulously caring for her flower garden or conquering the unruly grass of her lawn with her trusty mower. But her true passion, the light of her life, were her grandkids and her loyal dog, Duke. She showed her grandkids the same tenderness she showed her garden, nurturing them with love and guidance, making sure they grew strong and confident, just like their grandma.

Susann leaves behind her adoring family, including her children, Jeanie (Jacob) Spence and Alex Ponce, her brother Tad (Phillis) Childers, five grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many "adopted" kids, a testament to her nurturing spirit. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Maudine Childers, her loving husband, Jack Duvall, and her sweet granddaughter, Jacqualine Linden.

As we remember Susann, let us take comfort in the Baptist verse, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28). Susann loved her family, her friends, and her God, and she lived her purpose every day. A special thanks to her two grandchidren; Yasmine Hodges and Gabriel Duvall for the continued love and support they gave.

Join us for a celebration of Susann's lively life, to be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Rosewood Cremation & Funeral located at 438 U.S. 64, Conway, Arkansas, 72032. We invite everyone whose life was touched by Susann to share their memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page. As we remember Susann, let's honor her memory by living as she did, with compassion, integrity, and a little bit of feistiness.
