Rovilla Bennett Obituary (1941 - 2023)

Rovilla Lee Bennett of Morrilton, AR, gained her wings on March 10, 2023, at the age of 81. Rovilla passed peacefully at home with the love of her life, Jr., by her side after a 4-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Rovilla was born October 16, 1941, to the late Allen Barbee and Doris Barbee-Hallum. Rovilla married Clarence Bennett Jr., on May 28, 1965. Living in Little Rock, Landmark community, they had 4 children, two sons, John & Jim, and two daughters, Lisa & Traci. Rovilla served as Worthy Matron at the Iron Springs Eastern Star Chapter #542, with Jr., again by her side as Worthy Patron in 1980. She was a longtime member of Bingham Road Baptist Church until 1997 when she and Jr., moved to Morrilton, Ar. They owned and operated Overcup Landing Bait Shop and Campground on Hwy 9N until 2016. Both are members of Lonoke Baptist Church. Rovilla was a caring, loving wife of 58 years, mother to 4, grandmother to 12, great-grandmother to 26, an aunt, sister, cousin, and great friend to many more. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather JW Hallum, brother Allen Gene Barbee, grandchild Susan Michelle Bennett, and great grandchild Aiden Ryan Bowen. Rovilla is survived by her husband, Clarence E. Bennett, Jr., sons; John Bennett (Michelle) and Jim Bennett; daughters Lisa Felton (Conway) and Traci Bennett (Rob Killgore); Lifelong best friends Linda and Jay Nichols, brother Cecil "Buck" Barbee; stepmother Joyce Barbee and half-brothers Greg Barbee (Darla) and Russell Barbee (Carol) along with many nieces, nephews and friends. SPECIAL appreciation to Gentiva Hospice, Daisha Collins, RN. Chaplain Joe, Vicky McCauley-Social Worker, and Ariel Wheeler-CNA. Daisha was a God sent angel! She took such great care of momma!!
