Enola, Arkansas
Robert Clay Bowman, born on the 25th of March 1957 in Little Rock, Arkansas, was a man whose life was defined by love and adventure. He was a beacon of kindness and generosity, his life shaped by his commitment to his family, his hobbies, and his beloved community. A retired Lieutenant from the Department of Corrections, Robert was a man who walked in strength and courage but carried a heart full of compassion.
Robert's adventurous soul was best expressed through his hobbies. He was an aficionado of old westerns, a dedicated collector of guns, and a passionate Elvis fan. His love for driving his Corvette and riding horses painted a picture of a man who cherished the wind in his hair and the freedom of the open road. As Mark Twain said, "Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." These words encapsulated Robert's spirit perfectly.
However, beneath his adventurous exterior, Robert was a loving individual, a trait most evident in his devotion to his family. He was the beloved father of Larah (Richard) Hughes, Clayton (Erica) Bowman, Lane Bowman, and Catherine (Scotty) Crowe, and the cherished brother of Nancy Baxter and Joel Bowman. He doted on his grandchildren Austin, Addie, Alex, Bowman, Lauren, Hudson Hughes,, Micheal and Matthew Crowe. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nancy Bowman, his sister, Tommie Bowman, and his grandson, Ethan Bowman. To his family and those who knew him, Robert was a constant source of love, wisdom, and strength.
Above all, Robert had a heart for service, regularly donating to charities and ensuring that his acts of kindness rippled through his community in Enola, Arkansas. He was a man who believed in the power of giving, understanding that even the smallest act of kindness could make a significant impact in someone's life. As Winston Churchill once said, "We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give." Robert truly made a life by what he gave, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
