Peggy Ballew

–

Morrilton, Arkansas

It is with great sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Peggy "Shirlean" Ballew, born October 12, 1937, in St. Louis, MO. Her life was a testament to the enduring love of family, the faithfulness of service, and the joy of living fully. A faithful believer of Christ, Shirlean embodied the words of the Bible verse, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Shirlean was a woman of many talents and passions. As a military wife, mother, homemaker, Sunday school teacher, substitute teacher, and even a Tyson truck driver, Shirlean showed her versatility and resilience. She was a lover of antiques, a voracious reader of her Bible and Amish novels, and a puzzle enthusiast. Her greatest joy, however, was spoiling her great-grandchildren. Whether dining out, visiting the park, or shopping for new toys at Walmart, she relished these precious moments. She was ceaseless in her nurturing, unfailing in her love, and a tireless cheerleader at every sporting event. Her example of loving people unconditionally through both good times and hard times was a beacon of hope to all who knew her.

Shirlean is survived by her granddaughter, Rebecca (Joey) Dold, grandsons Brian and Joel Ballew, great-grandchildren Emma, Mason, Joseph Parker, and Landon Dold, and Wyatt Ballew, her brother Alvin (Mary Lynn) Jenkins, and a host of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlon and Lillie Jenkins, her beloved husband Franklin, her sons Frank and Robert Ballew, grandson Larry Smith, and her sister Anna Mae(Homer) Barber.

Her life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, faith, and family. We are grateful for the time we had with her, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. We invite you to share your memories of Shirlean, and upload photos to her memorial page, honoring her indomitable spirit, her unwavering love, and her memorable life.
In Lieu of flowers, the family request that a donation be made to the Sacred Heart School E-Sports program in Morrilton.
