Michael Stone

Michael J. Stone passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock AR.
Mike was born in Colchester VT but raised in Azusa CA.
Proceeded in death by his parents Morris J. Stone and Doris Maynard Horan, His brother Davic Stone of Oregon and God nephew Jeffery E. Brummer II of
Phoenix AZ. Survived by his wife of 51 years Kay Hardaway Stone Vilonia AR, daughter Tina Stone Stiles of Washington, granddaughter Amaris Stiles Pritz (Tyler)
of Toronto Canada. Sisters Kathie Stone Dunda (John) of Phoenix AZ, Patricia Horn Brummer (Jeff) of Overgaard AZ. Brothers Danny Stone (Melissa) Upland CA.

Mike was a 22 year veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1986 as a Boatswain Mate Chief. He served aboard four ships in Deck force, Naval Security police on
shore bases and was a qualified harbor tug master.
Mike served in Vietnam two tours, 1969-1970. he was assigned to River Division 151-15. He was a purple heart recipient, as well as many service medals,
citations, ribbons and commendations.
Mike became a resident of Vilonia AR, after his wife Kay, retired from the U.S. Navy in 1994.
Mike was an active member of the amateur (ham) radio community, call sign NL7RQ. He was a long time member of the STARS radio club of Cabot AR.
He was a mentor to many aspiring ham operators. He gave his time, knowledge, experience and resources to anyone who needed it. He made friends
around the world, especially in Japan and Australia.
Mike liked vintage cars, He was a member of the Vilonia car club.
Mike was a mentor and father figure to other veterans, who came home with unseen wounds and trauma. He understood exactly what they had been through.
Throughout his life, Mike maintained a commitment to service, consistently willing to lend a helping hand, with compassion and humor.
