Michael Everhart

Michael E. Everhart went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 8, 2026, at the wonderful age of 82. He was a Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, and to so many he was a very dear friend, but more than anything he was a Christian, so while we are sad that he is no longer here we can celebrate that we know where he is now and that we will see him again.

He was born in Greensboro, NC to his parents Ernest and Jewel Everhart. He was an amazing, loving husband to Rilda Mae for over 51 years, who he called his “gift”. He was known for loving his family, fishing, golf, friends, coffee, tinkerer, but more than that his love for Jesus and sharing that love with others.

Mike is survived by his adopted family, Tim and Jane Carroll (they have known each other for over 41 years, and lived in three different places together. Mike and Rilda were not just friends, they were “Mom and Dad”.) Their children, Tori Carroll, Patricia and Jason Little, and Cara and Jake Pinckley and grandchildren Peyton and JT. Along with Rilda's side of the Presnell Family including his numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and many extended family, who called him “Iron Mike”.

He is preceded in death by his loving Wife, Rilda, his Mother and Father, and his Brother Larry.

Mike was well loved wherever he lived. In his final years he lived in Oppelo, Arkansas and was a committed member of Oppelo First Baptist Church.

His Celebration of Life will be held on May 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Oppelo First Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved Wife on August 29, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Presnell Cemetery in Banner Elk, NC. As he is laid to rest, we will celebrate Rilda’s Birthday and the life we all shared with them.
