Mary Whited

–

Alma, Arkansas

With profound sadness we announce the passing of our matriarch, Mary Nelly Jean Whited, fondly known as Mom and Grandma. Born on February 13, 1944, in Cave City, AR, USA, she was a beacon of strength, compassion, and love for everyone who knew her, until her departure on May 31, 2026. A dedicated daughter of Alma, Arkansas, Mary was a vibrant woman, whose life was a testament to her unwavering faith in God and her boundless love for her family and friends.

A devout and committed sister to her church family at Kenner Chapel, Mary was known for her creative approach to spreading the word of God. Her life was the embodiment of the verse, Proverbs 31:26, "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." A loving housewife, she dedicated herself to her family, making her home a sanctuary filled with love and divine grace. Her hobbies included reading and studying the Bible, genealogy, and crochet – activities that were a testament to her loyalty to her family's history and her unwavering faith. The view from her comfy spot, watching hummingbirds while praising God, was her slice of heaven on earth.

Mary is survived by her loving children, LaJeana Justice, Jeff Puckett and Todd Puckett; her cherished grandchildren, Brittany Sowells, Jack Justice, Cody Justice, Tamra Brown, Brandy Tuck, Ashley White, Dakota White and Anthony White; and her caring nieces, Jenner McGowan, Jannia Howard, Jackie Hale and Carolyn Huffman Noles; Nephew Clint McGowan. She was preceded in death by her father, Owen Bonham, her beloved husband, Farris Whited, her mother, Daisy Bonham, her brothers, Lavon and James Bonham, her sisters, Nina Banks, Eunice Baker, and Odessa McGowan, her nieces Linda Hale, Debbie Baker, Donna Dacus and Revia Isom; her nephews Larry Baker, David Baker and Jimmy Bonham; and her dear granddaughter, Shana Bradley.

Mary will be remembered for her fervent faith, her endless love, and her dedicated service to her family and community. We invite all whose lives were touched by Mary to leave memories and upload photos to her memorial page, so we may all celebrate and remember this extraordinary woman who touched so many with her love and faith.
