Johnnie Jones

–

Oppelo, Arkansas

Johnnie Herman Jones, born in the town of Wayne, Oklahoma on February 15, 1937, has decided to take his adventurous spirit onto the next great journey. Known for his funny antics, generous heart, and thoughtful nature, Johnnie left us on January 12, 2025, just shy of his 88th birthday.

Johnnie spent his working years as a truck driver, a role that satisfied his thirst for adventure and love for the open road. As Mark Twain once said, "The secret to getting ahead is getting started." He was a proud United States Navy Korean War Veteran, who served his country with the same spirited determination he brought to every endeavor.

In his retirement, Johnnie resided in Oppelo, Arkansas, a place he filled with laughter, stories, and love. He truly was a man who knew how to enjoy life. He relished spending time with his friends and family, a kind word to comfort, or a helping hand to those in need.

He is survived by his childen: David Jones of Los Osos, CA, Becky Noel Jones of Hughson, CA, Susan Elizabeth Jones of Fresno, CA, Mary Tressa Jones of Fresno, CA, Evelyn Janetta McVay of Russellville, AR, Donna Ann Jaeger of Arkansas City, Kanas, Johnnie Herman Jones Jr. of Harper, Kansas, Dana Michelle Abbot of Doniphan, MO, James Noel Jones of Willington, Kansas, Sister: Betty Jo Kelso of Russellville, AR; brothers: Cecil Ray Jones (Kaye) of Petit Jean Mountain, Jerry Lee Jones (Harriet) of St. Elizabeth Community, step children: Billy Tanner of Dover, Terri McCoy of Morrilton, Theresa Mae Tanner of Russellville, James Tanner of Morrilton, Kenneth Tanner (Melinda) of Morrilton, ex wife; Helen Jones of Morrilton, several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren and friends.
