Frances Ford, a beloved mother and devoted wife, passed away peacefully on March 5th, 2026. Born on January 15th, 1947, in Helena-West Helena, AR, Frances devoted her life to her family and the community she loved in Oppelo, Arkansas. She was a loving and loyal woman whose dedication to those around her was a beacon of warmth and compassion. Frances was a steadfast rock for her family, a mother to not only her own children but everyone who needed a sense of family and belonging.
Frances worked diligently as a housekeeper, a role she embraced with her characteristic dedication. Even after retiring, she continued to find joy in maintaining her home and her beautiful flower garden—a testament to her nurturing spirit. Her love extended beyond people to animals as well; Frances was known for feeding all the strays and offering a safe haven for them in her yard.
Frances was a faithful Jehovah's Witness, finding strength and solace in her faith. The verse from Psalm 34:18, "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit," embodied Frances' worldview. She believed in being there for those in need, a principle she lived out daily in her interactions with her family, friends, and even stray animals.
Frances is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James Ford, her four children Delores Temple (Charlie Huffstutter), Wanda Killman, Sherry Rodriguez, James Ford (Teresa), and her brothers Eddie Abbott and Jimmy Edwards. Her legacy will live on through her nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lola Abbott, and her seven siblings.
Frances' memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. We invite you to share your memories of Frances and upload any photos you may have to the memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a lasting tribute to a woman who was truly the heart of her family and community.
