Don Reed Scroggin, a generous and loving man, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on October 7, 1940, in Springfield, Arkansas, Don grew into a thoughtful and adventurous individual who made a significant impact on the lives of those around him. His robust spirit was reflected in every aspect of his life, from his pioneering work in the cattle feeding industry to his selfless service in the United States Army.
Don was a man of strong faith, a dedicated member of the Beryl Baptist Church. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and he reciprocated that love wholeheartedly, especially to his children and granddaughters, who always managed to light up his face with a warm smile. His thoughtful nature and adventurous spirit led him to a successful career as a self-employed farmer, always finding ways to keep himself and his boys busy. As Albert Einstein once said, "The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive." This quote perfectly encapsulates Don's generous spirit and his constant willingness to go to the ends of the earth to protect his loved ones.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Doris Scroggin; his sons, Preston Scroggin and wife Missy, Eric Scroggin, and Glen Willhite; his niece, Joan Pillow and husband David; his cousin, Jerry Scroggin; his granddaughter, Morgan Mohon and husband Jesse; and his great-granddaughter, Audie Jean Mohon. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Grace Scroggin, and his son, Michael Scroggin.
