Perryville, Arkansas
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of a true gem of Perryville, Arkansas, Charles Francis Kuettle on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the age of 90. Born on April 24, 1935, in Morrilton, Arkansas, Charles was a courageous soul who touched lives with his kindness, his love for nature, and his enduring commitment to his loved ones. As the great Maya Angelou once said, “The quality of strength lined with tenderness is an unbeatable combination.” Charles embodied this thought, demonstrating a warrior's strength and the tenderness of a loving husband, father, and friend.
Charles was more than just a beloved family man. He was a patriot, proudly serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and later becoming an integral part of the Jeremiah Story VFW Post 12233. His dedication to his country mirrored his dedication to his work as a Maintenance Supervisor at Coleman Dairy, where he contributed his knowledge and expertise for several years. In his leisure time, Charles nurtured his love for the outdoors, frequently going fishing, hunting, and camping with his family and friends. He also had a green thumb, assisting his wife Betty in raising their garden and preserving their harvest.
To say Charles was the center of his family's universe would be an understatement. He was their North Star, guiding them with his wisdom and anchoring them with his unconditional love. His physical strength may have waned over time, but the strength of his love for his family never faltered. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Betty Kuettle, whom he married on August 18, 1958, his children: Poppy Kassler of Perryville, Casey Kuettle and wife Jean of Plano, TX, Jamie Gibson of Overland Park, KS, three grandchildren: Shane Kassler (Theresa), Justin Kassler, Whitney Gibson, and two great great grandchildren; one sister: Margaret Thomas of Louisiana along with many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Margaret Kuettle, three sisters: Helen Bradley, Ann Huddleston, Louise Kuettle, and four brothers: Herman Kuettle, Johnny Kuettle, Pee Wee Kuettle and Paul Kuettle. As Walt Whitman once wrote, "The powerful play goes on, and one may contribute a verse." Charles' verse, is filled with love, loyalty, and strength, will continue to resonate in the hearts of his loved ones.
We invite you to share your memories of Charles and upload photos to his memorial page. Your anecdotes and images will serve as a comforting reminder of the remarkable life Charles led and the indelible impact he had on everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
