Charlene Palmer, an adventurous spirit who filled every room with laughter, was a beacon of love and talent. Born on September 13, 1936, in Texarkana, AR, she passed away on September 13, 2026 on her 90th birthday. Charlene's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of joy, resilience, and beauty. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter illuminated the lives of all who knew her. As Helen Keller once said, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." For Charlene, life was indeed a grand adventure; she embraced every moment with a sense of wonder and zest.
Charlene was an accomplished administrative professional at the University of Texas, where her dedication, work ethic, and talents were highly valued. However, her talents were not confined within the walls of her office. A skilled seamstress, she specialized in creating custom drapes and clothes, and nothing brought her more joy than seeing her daughters in the beautiful dresses she had sewn. Her love for nature was evident in her immaculately tended flower garden, which was a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit. A member of the TOTH group, Charlene was an enthusiastic bridge player who reveled in the camaraderie and competition.
Her faith as a Methodist was an unwavering source of strength and solace, guiding her through life's trials and tribulations. Charlene loved her family more than anything else in the world. She is survived by her loving daughter, Jacqueline Gordon (David), son-in-law John Dailey, grandchildren: Heather Dailey (Jace), Brian Dailey, Laura Cox (Britt), Emily Paul (Nathan), Great Grandchildren: Colton Dailey, Xavier Cox, Kayanna Cox, Kaedynce Cox, Aidan Dailey, Aubrey Dailey, Jonathan Dailey, Adleigh Paul, Rynleigh Paul, brother: Grady Williams, sisters: Mary Morris and Vickie Barnes, best friends Marie Roycroft, Debbie Marshall and Valerie Mueller.
She was preceded in death by her father, Grady Williams, and mother, Mildred Fudge, sisters, Sarah Parchman and Diane Qualls and daughter Sabrina Dailey.
As Victor Hugo beautifully penned, "To love or have loved, that is enough. Ask nothing further. There is no other pearl to be found in the dark folds of life." Charlene's love for her family was the true pearl in her life, and her legacy of love, laughter, and courage will continue to inspire those left behind.
