Carey Gene Young Obituary (1959 - 2023)

Carey Gene Young, age 64, of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023. He was born on April 9, 1959 to the late Virgil Young, Sr. and Dorothy Etheridge Young. Carey was a Home Builder and Real Estate Agent. He operated his family business Catfish Young for many years. Carey enjoyed the finer things in life from fine wines, homes, and fasts cars, especially Corvettes which owned 15 throughout his lifetime. He also enjoyed vacationing at exotic destinations around the world especially locations with beaches and fast boats. He also enjoyed body building and working out. Carey is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Dorothy Young, Sr; brother, Phillip D. Young, Sr.; grandparents, Willy and Florence Etheridge; and grandparents, Pious D. and Bessie Young. Carey was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Carey is survived by his children, daughter, Sophia Lee Young of Palm Coast, Florida; son, Justin Hunt of Jacksonville, Arkansas; brother, Virgil (Cathy) Young, Jr., and sisters, Linda (Douglas) Claybrook, and Brenda Malone; nephews, Kevin Claybrook, Paul Young, Sean Malone, and Adam (Mary) Young; niece, Kara Claybrook; great-nephews, Kolton Claybrook and Henry Young; and great-nieces, Kelsey Claybrook and Amelia Young. Longtime friends, DuWayne Weldon, Jason Barnett and John Matthew. Memorial service will be held by Red Cup Celebrations by Rosewood Funerals & Cremations in the event center located at 438 Hwy 64, Conway Ar; Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM .Reverend Todd West officiating.
