Vilonia, Arkansas
On the 20th of October, 2026, we bid farewell to an extraordinary spirit, Barbara Jo Berry, who was born on the 4th of July, 1948 in New Castle, Indiana. She was a beacon of adventure, courage, love, and thoughtfulness, dwelling in the hearts of those who knew her as an embodiment of these virtues. Known affectionally as Barb, she lived an exciting life, full of daring escapades and cherished moments, in her beloved residence of Vilonia, Arkansas.
Barb was a woman of fearless spirit and endless compassion. As she sailed through life, she left a trail of unforgettable memories. Her adventurous soul found joy in the thrill of riding her trike across vast landscapes, often with her dear husband, Mark Berry, by her side, and their friends in tow. She was a retired ATD Call Center Manager, a role she held with great dedication and pride, demonstrating her courageous and thoughtful nature in the field of security. As Helen Keller once said, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all", and Barb lived this sentiment to the fullest, embracing every opportunity for adventure, whether it was a long motorcycle ride or a simple dinner out.
Barb's love extended beyond her thrilling escapades and fulfilling career. Above all, she cherished her family. Her compassionate heart found its home in the First Baptist Church of Vilonia, where she and Mark were devoted attendees. Barb was the loving daughter of the late Willard and Jessie Atkins, whose memories she carried throughout her life.
Her radiant smile, infectious laughter, and unyielding love will continue to live on in the hearts of her beloved husband, Mark, and those fortunate enough to have known her. She is also survived by children: Tony Harter (Tiffany), Stacy Myers (Keith), Richard Berry, Jamie Berry (Alexis), grandchildren: Alex, Logan, Keifer, Toby, Rose, and Ben; sisters: Marty Atkins and Ruby Miller, brother in law: Dale Marion.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Jackie Marion.
As we remember Barbara Berry, we celebrate her adventurous spirit, her courageous heart, her loving nature, and her thoughtful soul. She was a woman who loved deeply, lived boldly, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. We invite all who knew her to share their memories and photos on her memorial page, to celebrate and remember the life of this remarkable woman. As we honor her journey, let us remember the words of Emily Dickinson, "Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality."
