Barbara Baker

Barbara Lou Baker, a cherished matriarch, generous soul, and passionate Elvis Presley aficionado, peacefully passed away on September 29, 2026. Born on December 12, 1936, in Mansfield, OH, Barbara's life was a testament to her adventurous spirit and unwavering love for her family. To borrow a line from one of her favorite Elvis Presley songs, Barbara lived her life believing, "Values are like fingerprints. Nobody's are the same, but you leave 'em all over everything you do."

Barbara was a woman of many passions, each reflecting her loving, thoughtful, and adventurous spirit. Known for her exceptional baking skills, she owned and operated her own bakery in her early years, delighting her community with her delicious creations. Barbara's love for Jesus Christ and nature, particularly bird-watching and appreciating squirrels' antics, reflected her deep connection with the world around her. She took joy in crafting, dressing up, and adorning herself with beautiful jewelry, bringing a touch of glamour to everyday life. Her generosity knew no bounds; she shared her love for cooking and baking with everyone around her, spreading joy and comfort through her culinary masterpieces.

Barbara's love for Elvis Presley was legendary and formed an endearing aspect of her vibrant personality. A proud member of the Methodist Faith, Barbara's belief and values were the guiding forces in her life, influencing her actions and interactions. Widowed, she courageously embraced the role of mother to her grandchildren following the passing of her two children, creating a safe, loving environment that nurtured their growth. The love she invested in her family, was her most profound achievement, a testament to her selfless devotion. She is survived by sister: Georgia Mantos of Florida, brother: Ron Wiseman (Peg) of Ohio, Grandchildren: Joshua Whyel (Brittany) of Pine Bluff, Jeremy Baker of Pine Bluff, Laura Martin (Timothy) of Conway, John Thomas Crow of Ohio, Jessica Barragan (Daniel) of Conway, great grandchildren: Hunter, Ryan, Aaron, Kayli, Ernest, Darrius, Ari'anna, Christian, Brooklyn, Lexi, Adrian and one great great granddaughter Ayomi, along with numerous other family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, George & Ida Wiseman, husband Harold Baker of 62 years, numerous brothers and sisters; daughter, Katherine Jane Crow, son, Thomas Marshal Baker. Barbara's life was defined by her resilience, love and the joy she brought to those around her.
